On Valentine's Day 2026, I undertook the Acatenango Volcano hike in Guatemala—a challenging expedition that remains vivid in my memory. This photograph captures a pivotal moment during our descent toward camp, a point of relief after an arduous climb. At this stage, the volcano had receded from my focus; my attention was fixed on reaching base camp, still unseen on the horizon, with only my travel companion visible among our scattered group. This remains my most meaningful Valentine's Day.

I think I will remember this Valentine's Day forever. My favourite one.
